The current program goes through different periods of classical guitar repertoire, from Romanticism to 21st century music.
Esfera Ensemble was born as a collaboration between artists wanting to experiment with the possibilities of interaction between music and visual arts.The audience travels through music, photographs, paintings, animation and video art through Spanish traditions, fantasy worlds and poems. Three sisters-an actress, a guitarist and a doll-in a room with a chessboard floor, tell each other the stories of their mothers and grandmothers, beloved but "anonymous" women. The sisters’ smiles are naive and dangerous. They laugh of Bluebeard and dedicate their music, songs and dances to Susana Chavez, the Mexican journalist who coined the phrase, “not one more death,” in order to fight for the right to live of those women who have now only become statistics... Elisenda Pujals and Teresa Garcia formed the Dúo Zorongo in 2005, presenting a program that performs a journey through the Spanish songbook since the 18th century till nowadays contemporary music.
Collaboration with Dutch choreographer Aafje Franken (artistic director, Lux Ensemble). A performance including dancers and musicians but where the musicians are as well a part of the choreography. Original music composed by Sandra Pujols, instrumentation includes voice, cello, guitar and electronic elements. Project is currently under development.
