TVE2, Un trozo de Cabaret, theater piece with live music: Teresa García Herranz -Guitar-  & Carmen Gabriela Lozada -Voice-.

Cleavages stuffed with 500 pesos' notes, cabaret bars, bare legs and tobacco smoke are some of the details that the Mexican

photographer Eugenia Arenas

 captures in her exhibition

'Amor de Cabaret, la Noche de México'

, which can be visited from June 24th 2009  at Casa de America in Madrid.

cabaret "Between the 1930's and 50's there were around

100 cabarets

in Mexico City. People would go there to dance to live music in these wonderful surreal places that now almost no one can find," said Arenas. The exhibition offers snapshots of the cabaret night life from three of the

five

remaining cabarets in the Mexican capital.

The exhibition was opened with the show

"Un trozo de Cabaret"

, in which several  actreses reenacted typical scenes from cabaret life  accompanied by the voice of mexican mezzo soprano

Carmen Gabriela Lozada

 and guitarist
